What’s Up, Hungry People

I’m ready for that 24-hour, champagne shower…or should I say…jiggle?

These are by far my favorite kind of Jell-O shot. They aren’t overly sweet, so you can toss back a couple of them without hesitation. Plus, just look at how cute they are with their stars and strawberry toppings!

You don’t even need expensive champagne to make the perfect champagne Jell-O shots. In fact, cheaper champagne actually seems to work best!

  • Lemon vodka: Provides a zesty kick and extra punch.

  • Unflavored gelatin: Gives the shots their jiggle.
  • Strawberries: Adds a fresh, fruity garnish.
  • Edible glitter: For a sparkly, festive touch.

Please consume responsibly!

Let’s Cook

In a small saucepan, heat the water until it’s simmering. Once it starts to simmer, remove it from the heat. Now, sprinkle the gelatin on top and let it bloom for about 5 minutes. This gives the gelatin time to absorb the water and start to dissolve.

While the gelatin is blooming, grab a large bowl. Pour in the champagne and the chilled lemon vodka. Give it a good whisk to combine.

Once the gelatin has bloomed, pour the hot water into the champagne and vodka mixture. Stir well until the gelatin is completely dissolved. This might take a minute or two, but make sure there are no clumps of gelatin left.

Next, get your shot cups ready. Alternate between sprinkling diced strawberries and a little bit of edible glitter into each cup. If you’re feeling fancy, you can also use full-sized strawberries and submerge them about halfway in the liquid.

Now, ladle the liquid into the shot cups. If you’re planning to transport them, add lids to the cups. Place the shots in the fridge to chill for at least 1-3 hours, until they’re set. Once they’re ready, enjoy responsibly!

Tips for Perfect Champagne Jell-O Shots

  • Blooming Gelatin: Make sure to let the gelatin bloom for the full 5 minutes. This step ensures the gelatin dissolves properly without any lumps.
  • Chilling Time: Allow the shots to chill for at least 1-3 hours. If you’re short on time, make them the night before your event for the best results.
  • Strawberry Garnish: If using full-sized strawberries, make sure to wash and hull them properly. This ensures no dirt or leaves end up in your shots.
  • Edible Glitter: Go easy on the glitter. A little bit goes a long way, and too much can make the shots overly sweet or gritty.
  • Cheap Champagne: Don’t splurge on the champagne. The carbonation and flavor of cheaper options work just as well, if not better, in this recipe.
