I’ve certainly gained the “quarantine 15” – and unfortunately (or perhaps, fortunately for my waistline) we ended up postponing our June wedding for a few months due to current world circumstances. However, that’s no excuse not to get back in shape while stuck at home.

I was down nearly 10 lbs at the beginning of the year thanks to cutting out snacking, adding in weight bands to my workout, and eating a high-protein diet. It was after a trip to Disney World for my bachelorette party that I fell off the wagon – and the same week, lockdowns were initiated, and suddenly, I found myself sedentary with time on my hands.

That’s where AmBari Nutrition comes in! Their wide range of high-protein snacks, meals, and protein powders really helped me find my way back on track.

Of course, I am one of those people who hates eating the same thing over and over. I like having choices! For these protein bites, I wanted to make sure I had something tasty AND filling to get me going. So in order to not get bored, I used a variety of AmBari proteins to keep my morning routine tasty.

Mixing the Dry Ingredients
Alright, Hungry People, let’s dive into making these energy bites! Start by grabbing a large bowl and mixing together all the dry ingredients for your chosen flavor. This includes your protein powder, oats, and any crushed goodies like graham crackers, freeze-dried fruit, or chocolate chips. Give it all a good stir to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
Adding the Wet Ingredients
Next up, it’s time to get sticky! Stir in the wet ingredients – honey, peanut butter (if your recipe calls for it), and water. Make sure everything is well combined. Pro tip: If the mixture seems too dry, add a splash more water, but go easy – you don’t want it to be too wet.
Forming the Bites
Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes. This gives the oats time to absorb some moisture and makes the mixture easier to handle. Once it’s ready, measure out approximately two tablespoons of the mixture per bite. Roll it between your hands to form a ball. Don’t worry if it’s a bit sticky – that’s normal!
Chilling and Storing
After you’ve formed all your bites, place them on a baking sheet or plate. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours. This helps them firm up and meld together. Store your protein bites in an airtight container in the fridge, and they’ll be good for up to 10 days. Perfect for grab-and-go snacks!
Additional Tips for Perfect Protein Bites
- Keep it Fresh: Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor and texture. Stale oats or old honey can affect the taste and consistency.
- Mix It Up: If you find the mixture too dry, add a bit more water or honey. If it’s too wet, sprinkle in a bit more oats until you reach the desired consistency.
- Chill Out: Don’t skip the chilling step! It’s crucial for the bites to hold their shape and develop their flavors.
- Customize Your Bites: Feel free to swap ingredients based on your preferences. Add nuts, seeds, or different dried fruits to make the recipe your own.
- Portion Control: Use a cookie scoop to measure out the mixture evenly, ensuring each bite is the same size and calorie count.

Looks like we’re all set to snack smart and stay active this summer! These protein bites are the perfect on-the-go treat to keep you fueled for all your adventures. Whether you’re craving the sweetness of s’mores, the indulgence of chocolate brownie peanut butter, the tang of New York cheesecake, or the tropical vibes of mango, there’s a bite for every mood.
