What’s Up, Hungry People
This week I teamed up with AmBari Nutrition to make this incredibly simple – and practically healthy – protein packed pudding pie!
I’ve been trying to lose weight by focusing on eating healthier and watching my caloric intake. Eating high-protein meals has been a great way to feel fuller for longer – but at the end of the day, the thing I miss most on my wedding diet is being able to eat dessert.
This protein-packed pudding pie is the perfect solution to sneaking in some sweets without breaking the calorie bank. Plus, with the addition of AmBari Nutrition’s Tropical Banana protein powder, you can have your pie and eat it too.
Coming in at around 200 calories per slice, this banana cream pie is anything but traditional but still absolutely delicious.
If you’re going to snack, it might as well be something filling. The addition of Tropical Banana protein – in its pudding form – is a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth without craving more sugar once you’re done.
The addition of AmBari Nutrition’s Chocolate Minis on top is what really sets this pie apart. These tiny morsels give just the right amount of texture – and just so happen to also be protein-packed!
Here’s What You Need
- Tropical Banana protein powder: Adds banana flavor and protein to the pudding.
- Chocolate Minis: Provides texture and a chocolatey finish.
- Milk: Helps create the pudding consistency.
- Bananas: Adds natural sweetness and a fresh taste.
- Low-fat whipped cream topping: Gives a light and creamy top layer.
- Graham cracker pie crust: Serves as the crunchy base for the pie.
Step 1: Make the Pudding
Start by grabbing a small bowl and whisking together the milk and Tropical Banana protein powder until it reaches a pudding-like consistency. If it seems too thick, add a splash more milk until it’s just right.
Step 2: Layer the Bananas
Slice your bananas into thin pieces. Arrange about half of these slices directly on the graham cracker crust. This forms a delicious base layer of fruitiness.
Step 3: Add the Pudding
Pour the prepared pudding over the banana slices, ensuring they’re completely covered. Smooth it out with a spatula for an even layer.
Step 4: Top with More Bananas
Take the remaining banana slices and arrange them on top of the pudding. This adds a nice double layer of banana goodness.
Step 5: Spread the Whipped Cream
Spread the low-fat whipped cream topping over the bananas, going all the way to the edges of the pie crust. Aim for a layer that’s at least an inch thick to get that perfect creaminess.
Step 6: Sprinkle Chocolate Minis
Finally, sprinkle the Chocolate Minis over the top of the whipped cream. This not only adds a tasty chocolate crunch but also makes the pie look extra appealing.
Step 7: Chill and Serve
Pop the pie in the fridge and let it chill for at least an hour. This helps the banana pudding layer to fully set. Once it’s ready, slice it up and enjoy!
Tips for a Perfect Protein Pie
- Adjusting Consistency: If your pudding is too thick, don’t hesitate to add more milk a little at a time until it reaches the perfect consistency.
- Banana Freshness: Use ripe but firm bananas. Overripe bananas might get mushy, while underripe ones won’t give the same sweetness.
- Whipped Topping Tips: Make sure your whipped cream topping is cold when you spread it. This helps it maintain its shape and texture.
- Chilling Time: Give your pie enough time to chill. This not only helps the flavors meld but also ensures the pudding sets properly.
This high-protein banana cream pudding pie is a game-changer for anyone trying to stay on track with their diet without giving up dessert. With a creamy banana flavor, rich protein content, and a satisfying chocolate crunch, it’s a treat that you can feel good about indulging in. Give it a try, and you’ll see just how easy it is to make a delicious dessert that also fits into your healthy eating plan. Whether you’re looking for a post-workout snack or a guilt-free dessert, this pie has you covered.
