Looking for an easy, but impressive looking appetizer? These tasty twists combine crispy puff pastry, salty prosciutto and fresh asparagus to make a simple yet elegant app perfect for any spring afternoon.

And they certainly taste as delicious as they look! We dipped our asparagus twists in some marinara sauce, but they can be served alongside just about anything – and devoured hot or cold.

Plus the best part is they take less than twenty minutes to make from start to finish – just twist, heat, eat and repeat!

Ingredients

  • 16 oz asparagus
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 10 slice prosciutto cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • salt to taste
  • marinara for dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 F. Cut the puff pastry and sliced prosciutto into strips about 1/2 inch thick. Wash and trim the asparagus of any woody stems (about the bottom inch or so).
  • Wrap the individual stalks of asparagus with prosciutto, then twist the puff pastry around both. Arrange the wrapped asparagus onto a greased baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, melt the butter and whisk in the garlic powder, parsley, and salt to taste. Brush each asparagus stalk with the butter. Pop the sheet into the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. Serve warm or chilled along with marinara or ranch for dipping. Enjoy!
