Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the chicken breasts and boil until they are cooked through, and most of the water has evaporated, about 25-30 minutes.
  • Transfer the boiled chicken breasts to a large bowl. Use a hand mixer to shred the chicken (or alternatively, use two forks to shred by hand). Season with salt, pepper, and 3 tablespoons of Hungarian paprika. (Note: The original instructions mentioned to season with paprika here, but the quantity was not specified; thus, it has been clarified to use 3 tablespoons for this step.)
  • Pour out the water used to boil the chicken and return the pot to the heat. Add the butter. When frothy, add the chopped onions and stir until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the diced tomatoes to the pot. Bring to a rolling simmer and cook until most of the liquid has evaporated. Stir in the flour to help absorb the remaining liquid. Add the remaining ⅓ cup of Hungarian paprika and stir until everything in the pot is evenly coated.
  • Pour the chicken broth and garlic broth into the pot. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about ten minutes. Add the shredded chicken to the pot and continue to heat through, about another 5-10 minutes, until the soup is bubbling.
  • Remove the soup from the heat and stir in the Greek yogurt until the soup achieves a light orange-red color. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and enjoy alongside your magical family as they prepare to return to Hogwarts.
