About Me

What’s Up, Hungry People

My name is Felicia but you can call me The Starving Chef. I’m also known as Fictional Feast Felicia because I make a lot of fictional food from film, video games and more! Since I prefer to think of cooking as a form of art, I also prefer to think of myself as an artist – and as with most struggling artists just starting off in the world, I am down right broke!

I am the Starving Chef. And I will write for food.

While cooking recently became a passion of mine, writing has always been the core of what drives me to express myself. This blog is to inspire myself to write – and cook – as much as I can.

If you’ve ever said “I’m STARVING” when you’re hungry, you’ll get it! You are one of my Hungry People. Welcome to the Hungry People Club!

How the Starving Chef Got Started

My blog came about as a homework assignment in a summer class during my junior year of college in 2012 (shoutout to my Women & Writing classmates at Ohio University!!). I called it “The Starving Chef” because as a college student I had almost no money to spare for anything college kids considered fun back in the day.

I quickly learned that making food from scratch was not only cheaper and generally healthier – but I also attribute my cooking skills to landing me my hubby all the way back when he was just a silly college-boy.

Around 2014, I started taking the blog more seriously as a hobby and when my I had my first viral post in October 2014 I was hooked. In 2015, I started creating more foods based on movies, TV shows, games and movies and in 2016 I started making videos to go along with all my delicious content. And the rest is history. I’ve been blogging for well over a decade now – and making all my dreams come true in the process.

Now we live just outside of Cleveland, Ohio with our two pups who are basically our children. Outside of my blog I love to collect rare houseplants, travel the world, play with my many aquatic and semi-aquatic pets and watch lots of movies, play video games and generally live life to its fullest.

Fictional Feasts

I got started with Fictional Feasts in 2015. Some of my very first recipes were inspired by Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings. Once TikTok rolled around, I really started delving into the incredible – and dare I say delicious – world of movies, books and video games. Like many people, when I see good looking food on screen, I have to literally get up and do something about it. People quickly started leaving recipe requests on my videos for their favorite foods from fictional stories too, and I thought “I can cook that, and I will” – and now I’m here with all you amazing, Hungry People.

Currently, I go as Fictional Feast Felicia or Fictional Feasts on TikTok thanks to getting unlucky with the algorithm not understanding hyperbole.
